AAHC 297 - Archaeological Methods: From Dirt to Museum (3 Credits)
Prerequisite: ANTH 101 or ARTH 116 or CLAS 110. Examines archaeological methods (including survey, excavation, and remote sensing) that contribute unique information to our understanding of the human past. Focuses on studies of the ancient world to learn the primary theoretical developments in archaeology alongside techniques for analyzing and displaying archaeological sites and objects.
AAHC 299 - Arguments in Anthropology, Art History, Classical Studies (3 Credits)
Examines the arguments that scholars use when they interpret human cultural diversity in order to address the fundamental question of what it means to be human. Shows continuities in those arguments across the disciplines of anthropology, art history, classics. Evaluates such arguments by recognizing the relationship between data and theory.
AAHC 480 - Senior Research (3 Credits)
Prerequisite: Anthropology, art history, or classical studies major with senior standing. Workshopping how to translate skills acquired in the majors for the job market. Preparation for intensive independent research on a subject of the student’s choice resulting in a written thesis or equivalent project.
