An undergraduate student with 18 or fewer hours of course work remaining for degree completion may take up to six hours of graduate credit beyond the undergraduate degree requirements. Such graduate credit may be counted toward a master’s degree at the University, but will not be used to fulfill undergraduate degree requirements unless the student receives special permission. The student must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade-point average and must receive permission from their academic advisor and the chair of the department offering the course. Undergraduate students interested in taking graduate courses must submit an Undergraduate Permission to Take a Graduate Course form available through the Office of the Registrar's webpage. If there are financial aid considerations, students are encouraged to review all policies related to taking graduate courses prior to completion of the undergraduate program.
