The Student Health Center (SHC) is a medical clinic for UMW students taking 9 or more credits. The SHC is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the academic year. It is staffed by a physician, nurse practitioner, and registered nurses. The SHC sees students for the evaluation and treatment of illness and injuries, as well as sexual health concerns including STI evaluation and testing and contraception. The SHC provide allergy shots, physical exams, mental health, and travel consultations. SHC visits are free. There are nominal fees charged for tests, prescription medications from our pharmacy, immunizations, and medical supplies. Please call the SHC at 540-654-1040 to make an appointment.
